DUNCAN PLACE UPDATES

After undergoing a huge renovation and extension, Duncan Place is now a beautiful modern facility in the heart of the town, with a well-used library and a family hub providing youth and community services. The building also overlooks the lovely Coronation Park which received a makeover last year.

Duncan Place has been shortlisted for a prestigious RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architecture) Award in the Yorkshire 2025 category. The RIBA awards celebrate the best architecture in the UK.

CORONATION PARK UPDATES

An event on Sunday 5th May 2024 marked the opening of the reimagined park on the 1-year anniversary of King Charles III Coronation. Coronation Park in Loftus, a once outdated park, has now been transformed into a vibrant space.   The extensive refurbishment and restoration of the park has been driven by a strong sense of community spirit.

The space now has a direct access to Duncan Place as well as access via new steps from Zetland Road, as well as a new memorial garden with rose planting to reflect the original central feature of the park.

The is also a large projector wall which will host light shows, images, videos, and important information for residents.

What it delivered?

Improved community services within one community hub, a new Loftus Library, a new community hall, a revitalised Park with events capability.
